If youre doing something to constrain peoples mana or are serious about ending the game quickly, this might be what you want, but in my experience, cEDH games go long a lot more than people realize and I dont love to rely on Spell Pierce

I've seen other variants of that Mewtwo ex in a lot of matches since then (it's a card that's pretty prevalent in the meta) but out of the dozens of battles I've played, I've yet to see more than one or two people rocking the gold model
This card is also great in landfall decks because youll get twice as many triggers without having to play any extra spells
When it was banned, Wizards cited the reason for its banning as being poor color representation for red alongside the UR Twin deck taking up a large enough portion of the meta (around ten percent) that it was barring other deck strategies from having a proper chance
