I wouldn't be surprised if people tried to just use this as a stall deck if Path rotated with no replacement, but I still would not trust it at that point with how much you need to set up for it to be really powerful defensively
It's a lot like the comparison between Wound Reflection and Warlock Class: Would you rather have the immediate effect on a card that does little else, or the card that requires more mana investment but gives you other utility on the way
