Because of their complexity and the fact that they cause games to drag on for so long, there can be great rewards to practicing ahead of time and truly mastering a control deck
And there are archvillains like Ultimecia, Time Sorceress that become extinction-level threats if not dealt with in time
Cemetery Desecrator Zombie Tribal gets its own version of Noxious Gearhulk and while it's not quite as good on its own it has extra flexibility of being able to remove counters (killing planeswalkers, flipping Dark Depths, etc.) and acting as graveyard hate
It's like a weird cross between a crab and a slug, but with huge legs that look uncomfortably bony as it stabs you in the ear
