Only creatures you control when the ability resolves will be counted
You can use it to find the perfect card for the job, whether thats a Rare Candy to evolve your Charmander directly into a Charizard, an Ultra Ball to get Energy cards into the discard pile and grab any Pokmon, an Exp
None of that shows up in the typical "PSA vs BGS vs SGC vs CGC" comparison, which still treats these four companies as equal independent competitors
