An Important Update From ASC Technical Institute

The safety of our students, graduates, and the communities they serve has always been our highest priority.

After receiving a notice on 1 September 2026 that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) proposed to remove ASC from the Training Provider Registry, we immediately ceased operation of the CDL program to address the FMCSA’s concerns.

We recognized the profound impact this decision has on our students, particularly those who studied for months and expected to complete their final tests.

On September 1, ASC issued full refunds to every student enrolled in the program, regardless of the number of training hours completed, and in doing so, we voluntarily waived our right under state law to retain tuition from students who had completed 60% of the required training. Students may also transfer their completed credits to another eligible institution and continue working toward their CDLs.

Each of the 1600 + students who earned a CDL through ASC completed extensive training, graduated from our program, were licensed under federal standards, and received state-issued commercial driver’s licenses. Each graduate was licensed by the state of Texas as a safe and competent driver under the laws, standards, and policies in effect at the time. As federal requirements have changed, ASC has updated its training and testing practices accordingly.

Our immediate priority is to help effected students understand their options and receive accurate, timely information. We will communicate directly with students and partners as additional verified information becomes available.
